The man with the masterplan Richanthon has promised a new TV channel for Limerick. The I love Limerick youtube channel is producing some original content along with favouring a lot of Limerick related videos. One gem that they unearthed was the I'm from Limerick video. Brought out a number of years ago by the Limerick Co-Ordination Office and directed by Mike Finn, it was shown in Limerick cinemas and was the start of a successful pride campaign until it was rather tragically overshadowed by one of the worst periods ever in the city's criminal history.

Cheebah presents Tradition in Transition (A postcard from Cali) - film screening and live dj set from B+ after

Limerick homeboy B+ has been busy down in Cali Columbia (Will 'Quantic' Hollands new home town) documenting the city and the result is Tradition in Transition.

Based around the music of Quantic and his Combo Barbaro from their forthcoming Tradition in Transition album on Tru Thoughts Records featuring the talents of Will Quantic, Alfredito Linares, Nidia Gongora, Freddy Colorado, Arthur Verocai, Joao Comanche Gomes and Malcolm Catto this is a screening not to be missed. Dj set from B+ afterwards with some crazy cumbia funk and off centre tropical beats.

Alright, last mention of the Rubberbandits on this site for about two weeks but this video is quite funny in particular the roll call at the end. BTW anyone thinking of traveling for that Christmas party should note that Limerick hotels are now the cheapest in Ireland. There are particularly good offers around at present. I got one in my email today which offers two nights in the clarion for just 89 euro in total, included dates on that weekend actually. So shop around!

Back on the block

the block returns tonight on spin south west from 12-45, we're back from a two week holiday in los angeles and we have a bag of new records to get through. as well as looking forward we will also be looking back and paying tribute to 'mama africa' miriam makeba (two million people turned up to her funeral), earl palmer and odetta , rest in peace, rest in power.
