Video for Uncomfortable Pat Kenny Moment
Limerick had a role in the recent success of young seven year old breakdancer Jack Lynch with local B-boy Baz, helping out with his preparations. Despite not winning the final of the RTE talent show, Jack was a very popular entrant. So much so, that the late late show opted to have him on last Friday. In the clip above Pat Kenny is talking to the seven year old after a dance routine, he asks him what he would have done with the 50,000 prize if he had won. The young fellow replies that he would have gone to New York. What follows is hard to take from our most highly paid broadcaster. Carol Thatcher would be delighted, I presume. In the new age of interactivity, I'm sure RTE would love your feedback, right about now.
UPDATE: the video was removed and now is back on youtube above

What a pity. I was hoping to see the latest Car-Crash-Television moment from the Plank.

Ignorant racism on kennys part but lets not forget he assumes his own 'quirkiness' on this gaffe and others he has made is legitimised by some vauge remit ' dealing' with the public' as part of a public brodcasting document signed off by someone in Rte as no one in Donnybrook ever pulls him up on it. Licence holders who dont register a specific complaint to Rte against Kennys ignorance are being insulted by putting up with incidents like the above and compliant in the resulting inadvertant racism. Please register a complaint its the least we can do.
